This is what is on our radar this yuletide season:-Not sure about this one: Rip Curl and Sprite want you to join their team of Rip Curl riders Darius Heristchian, Rémi Lamazouère, Per Løken, Nils Arvidsson to film in Abkhazia. According to Onboard Mag (all other sources were uncertain), Abkhazia is a former Russian republic between the Black Sea and Caucasus mountains. Here is the hoops to be jumped: 1)upload your video and photos to ripcurl.tv; 2) five finalists will be selected to compete in the Crans Montana Slopestyle in January; 3)top two riders will be shipped to Abkhazia.agoodreed’s take: Rip Curl sensed it was time to “clean house”. Whether Abkhazia exists or not, these guys ain’t coming back.-Nike ACG is recruiting a media crew to film their riders in Patagonia for their 2008 “Sweetspot” movie. The crew is to consist of a filmer, photographer, journalist, and a director. I don’t know what the hell a snowboard director does. Does he instruct the shredder, “grab melon - it will be all artsy and crap” or does he tell the filmer/photographer “hike across to that other mountain for another angle”, to which the filmer/photographer would reply “you’s a punk bitch, hike it yourself”.agoodreed’s take: Does Nike really need kids to make their video for free? Couldn’t they get Spielberg or Kubrick? Forealdo: agoodreed would cast Danny Kass and Lindsay Lohan, and have them battle robot dinosaurs on hover snowboards. Lindsay would also be in a bikini.
