As we follow the hearings of Supreme Court nominee Justice Sonia Sotomayor, AGoodReed recalls another recent Obama appointee, Secretary of Transportation Ray Lahood.

New York Times journalist Deborah Solomon asked the Lahood some interesting questions. A selection follows.

What sort of name is LaHood? Are you from the hood?
If you were to go to Lebanon, you’d see it’s spelled Lahoud. It’s a well-known name in Lebanon.

What about skateboards [as a transportation option], which are especially fuel-efficient?
Nope. Not coordinated enough.
