Our friends NC Productions have been busy this past season. Take notes folks, this is how ya take care of business.

Featuring: Lucas Wilson, Kyle Martin, Vincent Remmel, Jonny Malanga, Jason and Aaron Robinson, Kyle Miller, Skylar Thornton, and friends. Shot in HD in Oregon, Washington, Montana, California and Colorado.
NC’s Jack of all trades Leland McNamara was kind enough to answer some questions for agr. Enjoy.
agr: Name and rank/job/position?
Leland McNamara: Leland, aka Lroy. Direct, shoot, edit, and all that other stuff.
agr: What is the NC Productions story?
Leland McNamara: NCp is just a group of hardworking young kids from the west, all trying to make this snowboarding thing happen. Eat, sleep, party, and snowboard. That’s it.
agr: Who is the crew?
Leland McNamara: It changes a bit every season, but this years crew was. Lucas Wilson, Kyle Martin, Vincent Remmel, Jonny Malanga, Jason and Aaron Robinson, Kyle Miller, Skylar Thornton, and many other good friends.
agr: How many Olympic gold medals do these guys have?
Leland McNamara: No Olympic standouts here. Good contests are rare now days, we usually just go to the backcountry.
agr: What does NC stand for?
Leland McNamara: NC is our good friend Nate Chute’s initials. He lost his life a good number of years back but I always thought he embodied what snowboarders should be. He was always about fun and friendships. We try to make our movies the way he would. About fun and friends!
agr: Do you create an outline of the type of footage you want (powder, park, urban etc.) or is it more spontaneous?
Leland McNamara: Our winter usually just follows the weather we don’t really know what it will do so sometimes were in the backcountry or sometimes were doing rails. We don’t really focus much on park. there are good parks everywhere and good kids riding them, so we just like to highlight other things. We do do some park shoots in the spring though just to keep it all well rounded.
agr: Location of the season?
Leland McNamara: Of course I can’t tell you the best place. I could tell you the second best?
agr: Don’t ever go to….
Leland McNamara: I don’t know. Every where is good cause every different place provides something new.
agr: Tell us a joke about kids from Montana.
Leland McNamara: There is nothing funny about those kids.
agr: What’s the song from the teaser and why is it not Elton John’s “Rocket Man”?
Leland McNamara: Elton John can’t cut it. So we got White Denim - Shake, shake, shake.
agr: On a scale of 0-10 (10 high), how is the NC groupie scene?
Leland McNamara: It used to be high, but most of us have chickies now so it’s low. A few of the guys a making a come back though so it’s probably 10 for them.
agr: Why Bend?
Leland McNamara: ‘Cause it’s a great town, but it’s getting old so we might branch out.
agr: Best brewery?
Leland McNamara: Anyone with free samples. They’re hard to find, but that make them better.
agr: Best Trailblazer?
Leland McNamara: Our Best Trail blazer would be Aaron Robinson, but if your talking B-ball I’d have to say I liked it when Rasheed was there.
(Ed. note: agreed on ARob, but as for B-ball, the correct answer is BRoy.)
agr: Best snack?
Leland McNamara: Sour snacks. Hell yeah.
agr: Best Spice Girl?
Leland McNamara: Definitely Beckham.
agr: If there is one thing that agoodreeder’s learn from this interview it should be…
Leland McNamara: Snowboard ’cause it’s fun. If it’s not fun for you then your doing something wrong.
agr: And finally, a 16-year-old girl from Oregon recently added me on Myspace. I have no idea who she is. I am not 16. Did I accept her friend request?
Leland McNamara: I’d bet you accepted her. Didn’t you?
Peace! -Lroy
(Ed. note: this is correct.)
