Eddie Grams x Tyler McLeod = Variety Pack 23.02.08

GUNS OUT TEASERWhat month is it? February? While most uber pro production companies are just beginning to get those banger shots on HD, up-and-coming SLC film rookies, Naptime Film’s Eddie Grams, and Tyler McLeod have already stitched together one hell of an early season edit. Combining crews and cameras, Grams and McLeod have whipped up a new force to be reckon with amongst the up-and-coming film crews, dubbed “Variety Pack.” Looks like this early season collaboration paid off a little too, the early birds definitely got the worm on this one. Grams and McLeod scooped up an easy $1000 winning REELcomp’s “best edit” award.Featuring: Ben Hanisch, Sean Black, Alex Andrews, Trevor Rhoda, Spencer Davis, Drew Fuller, Cameron Pierce, David Kunz, Jonah Owen, JP Tomich, Matt Piasecki, Max Honegger, Alex Sherman, Zane Miller, and friends.Variety Pack’s “Guns Out” will drop Summer 2008 varietyinyourlife.commyspace.com/mgmt

agoodreed: Road Edition 09.02.08

Awfully quiet around here….

There are is nothing that can excuse our absence this past week…except for this one.

agoodreed is a fairly resilient entity: all we need is some reliable (and free) wireless, a lot of joe, and our thinking caps. But for the past week, agoodreed has been on the road with Galvanic Design on a rail jammin’ tour. We did not anticipate not having constant access to wireless and coffee (cough…Wyoming…cough). And without these two elements, our thinking caps don’t run so well.

agoodreed has had to go gritty to survive in the wilderness. Good thing Burton is cooking up a Burton x Carhartt jacket. (via honeyee.com)
Burton x Carhartt

Burton x Carhartt Coat

Finally agoodreed has something to compliment our ‘coonskin hat.

agoodreed conquers Vegas 03.02.08

agoodreed is back and in fighting condition. A week in Las Vegas for the SIA Tradeshow put us through the ringer, but we emerged victorious.

We will spare you the product write-ups, because it’s all old newz now. agoodreed knew about all that Burton/Nomis/DC/Nike rubbish back before there were cupholders.

But there is some news worth reporting on after a week in Vegas:

agoodreed secured a few too-legit-to-quit sponsors….

Circus Circus complimentary toiletries,

and

crazeeHeads.

Pro models are in the works.

X Games foul-play 26.01.08

Amping the amplitude baby…progression and energy drinks.

agoodreed has been getting wild in Aspen at the 12th Winter X Games and is taking a breather from all the jaegerbombs to give a lil’ reeder update.

Big Air is up next, and agoodreed heard from a lil’ birdie to be on the watch for the double-cork 1260….real serious.

EXPN has some nice bloggies covering the different events, and it appears that something goofy is going on at the SBX course…besides SBX that is.

First off, Mr. Shaun Palmer was pretty upset about having to hit the course first in both SBX and SX.  Mr. Palmer, concerned about the disadvantage of having to run the course first after it having received four inches of snowfall, inquired of the powers that be:

“How the hell do they figure out the start order?”

Response: “…randomly, with influence.”

Mr. Palmer:  “Well then that’s not random is it? That’s TV bullsh*t.”

Mr. Palmer was not pleased, and even less pleased after the race had finished.   After his opening run, the reigning champ of all things ____ercross watched as every single SBXer in the field beat him, by as much as seven seconds.

Now picture this:

a bunch of pissed off bruisers,  sporting body armor plastered with logos of energy drinks and hardware stores, looking for blood…

X Games, hell yea…

686 x Levi’s 25.01.08

I give up. I cannot figure out the trends in snowboard fashion. I just bought some damn Holden pants, and I had some little kid come make fun of me at the mountain. Indeed his pants were wayyyyy tighter than mine, but its the best I can do given my massive leg muscles. So I just heckled him from the side of the run while he did all manner of spinner-scooter-tapper-slapper maneuvers.

Back to the issue at hand. I thought the denim thing in snowboard pants was dead and buried…Apparently this is not the case.

“Westlife Distribution is pleased to announce the release of a limited edition Times collection featuring 686® X Levi’s®…
For the 2008-2009 winter season, with products shipping in September 2008, Levi’s® and 686 are offering a full collection of men’s and women’s outerwear. From America’s cattle ranches to Paris’ designer boutiques, denim remains the most popular clothing item in the world – and it all started with Levi’s® over 150 years ago. The 686 X Levi’s® partnership has taken real denim and denim-inspired fabrications to new technical heights in an array of jacket and pant ensembles. ” (via Boardsport Source)

On a positive note, I am proud to announce that I am now entering the Golden Days of my life as a snowboarder, as I am now observing relapses of snowboard trends.

Here’s to being old and out-of-vogue and the right to make fun of kids!

Mr. Levi Strauss: probably a skier.

Nike Snowboard Boots. 23.01.08

I recently got a gig to work on the “All Access” crew with ESPN and have been posted up in Aspen for the last 2 days.   After finally getting situated and getting into the whole routine, I had a chance to preview the Mens and Womens Superpipe.   The Burton Futura team was in full effect.  Nothin’ special right?

What is special is the unveiling of Nike’s snowboard boots.    After watching LV rolled down the pipe behind Danny Kass, he stood in line to be shuttled back up to the top by sled.  He slightly lifted up his pant leg and to my suprise… A Nike Swoosh?

The Dunks have rolled out.

And as I looked closer it, Danny Kass was rockin some what look to be like Air Stabs in snowboard boot form.

Mission Number one.  Get the first leak of Nike snowboard boots before this weekend! Stay tuned.

Burton x Head Porter Excursion 22.01.08

I went digging through my backpack the other day and found all kinds of great things: part of a clif bar (or poop, I can’t tell); missing glove (smells like poop); overdue library book; seashell; and something sticky.

Burton went digging through theirs and decided to do another damn collaboration…

Burton and Japanese accessory designer Head Porter are collaborating on the Burton x Head Porter Excursion technical bags.  The image from Hiroshi Fujiwara looks promising…this could be the pack agoodreed has been waiting for.

(via Slam X Hype by way of Hiroshi Fujiwara…that’s right, agoodreed is way cultured)

2008/2009 Artec Snowboards 21.01.08

Snowbroader.eu has the 2008/2008 Artec Snowboards. They gave Gabe Taylor, Nima Jalali, Laura Hadar and Jake Devine pro models….

(via snowbroader.eu)

We will have to keep waiting for pro models from Gus Engle and Johnny Miller

Word on the street is that the Artec engineers were having a hard time working with cedar bark and rainbows.

Stepchild x Rome = ROUGH SNOWBOARDS 21.01.08

Tip o’ the hat to snowbroader.eu for sharing this one…

Rough Snowboards, an Italian board manufacturer out of Italy has debuted their 2008/2009 line, and have a new logo to boot.

(via snowbroader.eu)

Magnificent. Leave it to Italy to be on the forefront of progressive design. That logo…can you say Gucci?

Upon investigation, agoodreed discovered that Rough is utilizing a one-of-a-kind board sizing system:

“To help you choose the right board Rough snowboards have introduced an easy size concept, XS, S, M and L which indicates the length of the deck…” (via Rough)

Damn, that is easy…it is soooo much easier than actually using a measurement, which also indicates the length of the deck. Snowbroader.eu has an interview with the masterminds here.

Here is what the masses are saying over at snowbroader.eu:

“GO FAST & ROUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!”-Mike

“i’m ROUGH !!!!!!thanks Rough Snowboards”-Barney

Well goodreeders, what do you think? I will be so happy if you come up with amazing statements like the folks over at snowbroader

More Burton stuff and agoodreed drops the ball 18.01.08

First off, agoodreed would like to give a tip of the hat to the boys over the pond at kink.se and snowbroader.eu. They beat us to the punch on this one; but agoodreed maintains that we could beat them at arm wrestling…

Transition.se has pictures of Burton 2008/2009 product from a showroom party…(via transition.se)

The resourceful fellows over at snowbroader.eu stumbled upon a japanese myspace with scanned images of the Burton 2008/2009 catalog. (via snowbroader.eu)

Sorry for letting you down guys. But to be fair, those euros had an advantage:

1. agoodreed don’t reed .se; we don’t even know what country it is from.

2. we only use myspace for finding hot babes…
