Holler Backs 09.01.08

agoodreed got linkd to by some doods that are totally not our friends who might feel an awkward obligation to visit the ‘reed and pretend to enjoy it when they are in our presence. Thanks guys!

Here is the scheme…we are going to link back to them in a you-scratch-my-back-i’ll-scratch-yours fashion, then anyone who actually follows these ridiculous links will enter into a vicious cycle of bouncing back and forth between the sites, and then when our hits start to rack up, we are going to sell some goddamn adspace, get really rich, and then I am going to buy hella Batter Blaster. Waffles for dayzzzzzz

Feliz Navidad a tia! 26.12.07

Feliz Navidad a ti!

Merry Christmas to all the GoodReed fans out there. Santa worked in mysterious ways this year. As struggled to open my crusted shut eyes on Christmas Eve day morning at around 4 a.m. to take my mother to the airport, I was shocked with what I saw. “20″ new in the last 24 hours” Seriously? “The word “epic” is used by so many snowboarders to describe a day of riding that it is beyond what most people get to experience. That word, in my opinion, is used too frequently, but to say that the day of riding I had on December 7th was epic is an understatement. I’m guilty of using that word just as much of the next guy, but after 17 years of riding, I finally know what it means.”(Thanks to Greg Baier over at actionsportsgroup and snowboardermag.) Our day may have been just short of epic in accordance to what they had on the Burton x Snowboardermag go ride day, but damn. Riding up on one of the first ten chairs I couldn’t come to grasp with the fact that I didn’t know where to go…..

As good friend Mario Hevia once said… “In Valle Nevado when it snows you have no idea where to go. There is too many fresh spots and you can’t decide what to do.” Truth. It’s Christmas Eve day the 24th of December. Snowboarding with Washington transplant Matty V who had changed is flight home from Christmas in Minnesota to ride pow. I don’t know if he was the final good luck charm or if he brought the storm with him in the airways, but what a Christmas to remember.

Whether you were fortunate to ride good snow, spend quality time with family, or maybe enjoy a drink down at the bar… I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday season and may 2008 bring nothing short of the goodness of 2007!

A GoodReed plows forward and we are looking forward to fun and opportunities in 2008.

Team 8130. You know who you are.

Andrew’s thoughts on the makeover. 13.12.07

My name is Andrew Hart. I am one of two contributors to this word arena we call agoodreed.com.

To the general public, my good friend Barry Sevig decided it was time for a haircut and beard trim for agoodreed.wordpress.com.

Well here it is and I couldn’t be more delighted! I’ve been told it will be an ever evolving process as a first collaboration and that to get a hold of your pants for the updates cause they could be flyin’!

The Greatest Day Ever 12.11.07

Today is Sunday, except it is not because there is no school or work tomorrow. Thanks Vets! Therefore, today is pretty rad. I went skating in some gnarly weather, took some video….maybe a video later…probably not though.

Furthermore, someone I know got some love snowboard-mag.com. Those snowboard-mag guys, what would I do without ‘em??

hst-x-think-thank-x-snowboardmag.jpg

Instead of answering that, prepare your peepers for Gato Negro….shit is coming upppppppp, yadadaheardme???

To celebrate I ordered myself an upper body torso, compliments of Mr. Draplin, and Mr. Gary. Can’t wait.

Lomo shots have been developed! 21.10.07

Brunela’s, originally uploaded by booshclown.

As some of you may know I have been traveling for the last 3 months in a couple of different countries. I had both a digital and a film camera.

Now the rewards of a digital camera are great. You pay nothing to develop film. They are on the internet within hours and friends, family and strangers have seem them by morning. If that’s reward imagine 3 months of film patiently waiting to be developed upon returning home. I love this the most about film. I march into Walgreens with a system down. I let the lady know about the “circular” pictures and that they need to be centered in every shot. Do they manage to still screw up half my shots? YES! horrid. So here’s shot number one. On location in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica. A block from surf, 6 dollars a night and a fridge full of beer thats run on the honor system. All this and you pay when you leave. Oh… and 500 channels on DirectTV to keep you in touch with life back in the states. After 2 years and finally returning to Costa Rica, this place is now a fortress. When I first visited Brunela’s back in 2005 it was a 4 room surf shack with big intentions. Who knows, maybe in another 2 years this place is going to have a waterslide and kiddy pool?Big Ups to Juan at Brunela’s!

Hello world! 20.10.07

What the hell??? So my man barry and I were super stoked to get this here blog a jammin’. We have been putting a lot of thought into just where this new media adventure would fit in the world wide webs, and more importantly, how it would fit in to your hearts. after a good ol’ noggin scractchin session, we decided we were ready to kick out the posts…apparently wordpress was ready sooner.

the first post, is a special thing…it sets the tone for the whole damn show, and can certainly make or break your lil blog. well, sir barry and I had the perfect first post ready to fire…we logged in, and low and behold…wordpress had already deflowered our site…that’s right, the powers that be at wordpress, just up and posted on our page here. We changed it, but dammit…here’s to happy reedin’.
