Interior Department gets scandalous 12.09.08

The Associated Press reports:

“Government brokers responsible for collecting billions of dollars in federal oil royalties operated in a ‘culture of substance abuse and promiscuity’…that included influencing contracts, working part-time as private oil consultants and having sexual relationships with — and accepting golf and ski trips, snowboarding lessons and concert tickets from — oil-company employees, according to three reports released Wednesday by the Interior Department’s inspector general.” (via The Seattle Times)

Deplorable.  Once again, politicians sully snowboarding’s good name. agr uncovered this exclusive video footage of the “fraternity-house” like Denver Minerals Management Service office. (NSFW)

Utterly repugnant. Not to mention that the government permits children to hold official positions.

King of Crunk Guacamole 06.05.08

Broke out the slip-n-slide this weekend for some slashin’ and thrashin’ at Snoqualmie.
Feda at the station
Feda is a gentleman. Here he washes car windows at the gas station, at approximately 9:41 am.
The Signal Park Rocker was there, wild style.
So was Edgers. Edgers knows a thing or two about snowscootin’. But what’s more, he makes a mean guacamole.

Guac
Yea Edgers. Get it. All about that cilantro.
Oh yea. This is really important. The Dingo is a hipster.

Very important snowboarding information. (image via lolhipsters)
Heard through the grapevine: Edgers is the newest member to the BME Click. Totally saw this one coming.

Skate Study House 22.01.08

“Paris-born skateboarder-turned-entrepreneur Pierre-André Senizergues, whose company developed skate shoes like Etnies, teamed up with interior designer Gil Le Bon de LaPointe, a fellow skater, to create the Skate Study House, an exhibit that pays homage to both the skateboard and modern design…A play on Los Angeles’ famed Case Study Houses project that tasked architects and designers with building and furnishing model homes, SSH recreates the furniture from the project bringing the dynamism and spontaneity necessary in skating into the world of interior design, its creators say.” (via Cool Hunting)

Name That Line 20.01.08

Backcountry Snowcats invites you to think up a name for one of their new lines and if selected you will receive a weekend of ripping your newly christened line.  The “Name That Line” contest will  end at 12:00pm (PST) March 10, 2008.

agoodreed wasn’t going to tell you about this one, we were hoping to horde the loot ourselves.  But the only names we could come up with and were of questionable taste and all included the word “poop“.

Backcountry Snowcats is a Cat Skiing and Snowboarding operation hidden in British Columbia’s South Chilcotin Mountains to the north of Whistler.

Outsourcing is great! 19.01.08

Soooo excited about this.

There ain’t too much better than agoodreed and a cup-o-tea. Of course, agoodreed only drinks the finest of teas, which we have previously had hand picked by our fleet of monks.

Now we are saving time and money with Monkey Picked Tea!

“This rare chinese tea is carefully picked by specially trained monkeys in a remote mountain region of China. Legend has it that monkeys were first used to collect tea ten centuries ago, because upon seeing it’s master trying to reach some tea growing wild on a mountain face, the monkey climbed up the steep face and collected the tea growing there and brought it down to his master. This wild tea was considered so delicious that other people began to train monkeys to collect this rare wild tea. Nowadays the practice of monkeys picking tea has all but died out, except in one small remote village where they still continue this remarkable tradition. No monkeys are harmed or mistreated in order for us to bring this rare brew to you! In fact the monkeys and their ancestors before them have been doing this job for generations and are treated as respected members of their human keeper’s families.” (via edible)

Pixy Stix 16.01.08

Now over the weekend I made a trip down to Black Butte, Oregon to rip a day at both Hoodoo Ski Bowl and Mt Bachelor. Long weekend short, I arrived home after 6 hours of driving to find a pleasant surprise on my desk. A pile of Pixy Stix. For the few who know about my candy habits, this is the key to my heart. Piles of flavored fruity sugar?? After downing a few at nearly midnight, I struggled to sleep. Eating sugar is a daily habit of mine.
