In college sports, the East Coast gets all of the attention. In snowboarding, goofy film crews from California get all the attention. But what is going on the right coast? We had a chat with Dudeguy Films mastermind Brendon Rego. Enjoy.

Agoodreed: So word on the street is that Dudeguy Films already has a triple backflip on film. Can you verify this?
Brendon Rego: Yeah, Ben Pond did it.
agr: Ben Pond, a good name. Speaking of which, Dudeguy Films is a pretty rad name, how did you come by it?
BR: Mike Rav and Nick Esposito wanted to make a video in like 2006 and we were all locals at Wachusett, which is pretty much where all the “bro’s” from Boston and what not ride and we called them “dudeguys.” So that’s pretty much how it came about. We decided to go with Dudeguy Films and then Just Trying to Fit In as the video because all the kids forgot that snowboarding was about fun and they’re all about looking cool and fitting in.

agr: But snowboarding is about looking cool, not fun.
So we have Brendon Rego, Mike Rav, and Nick Esposito…who else is behind DGF?
BR: Well there’s Ben Pond, Brandon Griffin, Jeremy Reid and Steve Lauder as the other main heads and then a bunch of friends. This year Danny Tedesco is filming with us and Skylar Brent–who is a really, really sick filmer–is filming a lot of the video, you can check his stuff out at www.skylarbrent.com.
agr: Agreed, Skylar knows his stuff. How about yrself? Where did you learn the trade?
BR: I’ve always kind of been into making videos since I was younger. I had like a Hi8 Handy Cam when I was 10 or something and made skating videos with my friends then when I was about 15 or 16 the same thing happened with snowboarding and that sort of evolved to what it is now, just with better cameras and more friends.
agr: So we got a whole bunch of guys with cameras, and snowboarding. Tell me about the snowboarding that goes down with the DudeGuys.
BR: The snowboarding that goes down with us is kind of different from the other snowboarding film type group things, we put out videos online that show personality rather than just bangers and what not. We are basically just trying to make a really good east coast video this year since there hasn’t been one in awhile.
agr: Good stuff. So we should expect a lot of first descents in Alaska?
BR: Na, nothing like that at all. You should expect some raw next level snowboarding, upcoming east coast kids with talent, good tunes, some partying and babes.
agr: Babes! I am sold. So does the new video have a name?
BR: Yeah it does, it’s called Get F**ked.
agr: No it isn’t. Are you serious?
BR: Yep.
agr: Damn. You guys get a medal for naming shit. So, if you had to liken Get Fukd to a mainstream movie, which movie would it be (Princess Diaries is already taken)?
BR: African Heat. Do you know what African Heat is?
agr: Google does. Is it porn? I doubt it, because if it were porn, I would know it.
BR: Yeah, well it’s a pretty good movie that Danny Tedesco just saw not to long ago, he said it’s similar to the movie.

BR: Grew up at Wachusett, relocated to Loon last year.
